More than a podcast
The Firefighters Podcast has grown far beyond where it started in 2020.
Today, we are an independent, multi-platform fire and rescue media and education platform, connecting firefighters, first responders, researchers, academics, industry experts, manufacturers and senior fire-sector leaders from across the world.
At the heart of what we do is a simple purpose:
Capture the knowledge. Connect the people. Make it accessible. Share it globally.
Through podcasts, video, digital content, events, resources and initiatives, we’re building a platform that helps valuable knowledge travel further, while supporting and strengthening the global fire and emergency services community.
Some of the most valuable knowledge in the fire sector is shared at conferences, specialist training, research events, workshops and within professional networks.
But not everyone can be there.
That’s why we go to where the learning is happening.
From international conferences and operational workshops to training centres, research events, industry exhibitions and fire departments, we capture the conversations, experience and expertise shaping the fire and rescue sector.
Making Knowledge Accessible
We turn that learning into accessible podcasts, video and digital content, giving firefighters and first responders around the world access to ideas, knowledge and professional development they may otherwise never encounter.
Since launching, we have built one of the world’s largest independent libraries of firefighter conversations and professional development content, covering everything from operational learning, fire behaviour and firefighter safety to leadership, wellbeing, research, technology and emerging risks.
The drill book
Built by firefighters, for firefighters, The Drill Book is a growing community-built library of training ideas, practical resources and professional development tools for firefighters across the FRS.
Designed to support everyone from new crew members and developing officers to instructors and experienced firefighters, it makes useful knowledge easy to access, share and put into practice on the drill ground.
The library includes training ideas, IFCOATS and operational resources, knots and lines, quick-reference guides, interview preparation, radio messaging guidance, useful links and more - with new content continuing to be added.
Whether you’re developing your own skills, supporting a new firefighter or planning training for an entire crew, The Drill Book helps turn shared knowledge into practical learning.
A Community That Makes a Difference
Our impact isn't limited to the content we create.
We believe a platform with reach also has a responsibility to use that reach positively.
We support charities, community initiatives, memorial events and causes connected to firefighters, first responders and their families.
A huge part of what TFFPC is about is helping amplify important work, raise awareness and bring people together.
Whether that's sharing a story with our audience, supporting an event or putting the spotlight on an organisation making a difference, we want our platform to contribute to the community that has helped build it.
the PINK FIREFIGHTERS
UK Pink Firefighters brings together serving and retired firefighters with a shared mission: to raise awareness and funds for those affected by breast cancer.
Taking on runs, stair climbs, endurance events and firefighter challenges in their unmistakable pink fire kit, the team uses the strength and visibility of the fire service community to start conversations about breast cancer, encourage early checks and screening, and raise vital funds.
The Firefighters Podcast works in collaboration with UK Pink Firefighters, using our platform and global community to help take that message further.
It’s another example of what can happen when the fire service community comes together - using its voice, reach and determination to make a difference beyond the fireground.
